Sibenik is a town with rich cultural heritage. When you pay a visit to this town, be sure to check out St. Jacobs’s cathedral first. This church is completely made of stone and is protected by UNESCO as an important part of world heritage.
This church is best known for its 74 head-portraits that were patiently carved in stone to represent its author's contemporaries.
Sibenik is a host to numerous events in summer held on the towns squares where you can enjoy the lively atmosphere of the city's life. The most famous open air stage of this kind is square Četiri bunara. Sibenik is famous for the International Children's Festival that invites children from around the world to perform on Šibenik's stages.
Sibenik is located in wonderful surroundings, close to two national parks. When you visit Sibenik make sure to go to the waterfalls of National Park Krka or go sailing around the numerous islands of National Park Kornati. Adventure lovers must check out Šibenik Bridge and try out some bungee jumping.
